Happy New Year! Something I would like to ask myself as the New Year starts to set in.  Am I in the place God meant me to be?

My daughter gave me an I Phone and I love it now. I say now because during its first few days with me, there seemed to be nothing I could  accomplish with it. My telco sms' were all mis-spelled. I could not answer a Viber call not even  send a free sms.. But my children all told me to give myself a little time. I was such in a hurry to be an 'expert user' :-) Today as I write this post, my phone could make me twit, do fb, email, surf and take pics.. i have downloaded instagram and easily add anything :-) Thank you my darling! I keep forgetting taking our pics whenever she visits. Excitement I am sure on my part! Cool! Pic will follow:-)

The world never stops turning. Technology keeps improving. How many times have we experienced that feeling of being left behind because technology is running at a pace no one can seem to cope up with. There seems to be no time at all  to enjoy the awesome loads of photos, music, videos and movies that we have downloaded online. It is really mind unsettling at times. Imagine the specter of  losing all my valuable digital data. So,  thinking of  preserving downloaded items from the web?  Personally, I  prepare and save my precious downloads in time for a planned or scheduled movie, video or digital whatever  marathon. My family and I try to find a common time to sit down and enjoy what we all have collectively obtained from the web. Sometimes though it takes a while before we can all come to a  common free time. In the meantime, I like protecting  my downloads.  It is practically easy. I just see to it that I burn dvd of my web finds. It serves as my digital back up and burn strat

Is it possible to be an art collector if you are not wealthy? This I have often wondered. A couple of my best friends have each possess very impressive collections of art. Beautiful and authentic works by famous as well as new artists. Of course,  I am envious being of simple means. But that is really a joke. Yet,  I must admit, those works of art never seize to amaze my "less cultured" sensibilities. Painting as an art form has been there for many, many years bearing many differing styles; landscape, portraits, still life. Whether they represent a certain era in our world's history or not, the point is the artist bares his soul through his paintings. How wonderful is that? To be able to look at a painting today,  created by a man who existed hundreds of years ago. Through the art work, it is possible to feel the essence of those times past. Majestic or peculiar  against the walls,  paintings serve to introduce, link or remind us about eras gone by. But paintings 

Was invited to attend this big clan event.. there's little time to prepare huhuhu This was hurriedly done. My Tita Fe was asking me if I could provide a family pic including my siblings and parents, nieces and my own children.. I could not find something suitable that very moment.. most of our family pics were destroyed by Ondoy.. so i tried to do the collage .. but no can do.. Tita Fe says its gonna be too small to be recognizable. Today was supposed to be the Fernandez Domingo Clan reunion in Guiguinto, Bulacan.. so sorry I could not make it..

On Thursday, the day Aya arrived here in our place for a very brief visit, I thought everything would be okey, expecting the visit to be smooth and just in playful Christmas decorating mood. On Friday, November 30, a holiday we brought my grand daughter Aya to our family doctor because our good, old pediatrician was having a holiday. Last night was a very bad night, she was unable to sleep and almost can not feed. She was having a very very difficult time breathing.. with me watching hourly.. and to me that breathing seemed heavier and more difficult as the hours passed.. We gave her a medication for cough as her Mom approved, but with little improvement.. Lolo and I decided to bring her to the doctor first thing in the morning. And when our family doctor examined her she said her air ways are too much too tight constricted .. God! She was doing abdominal breathing which was a very very bad sign. The doctor ordered her to be nebulized for 15 minutes and examined her again.. the

My cousin posted this most recent, I guess, photo of my grandparents on my father's side. My grandma Inang as we call her hails from Bulacan and my grandpa, Tatang as we refer to him is from Nueva Ecija. My Titos and Titas look more like they descended from the Chinese or Japanese race, essentially because of the chinkiness of the eyes. But my father though looks more like my grandma. Feliza Fernandez Domingo and Jose Mendiola Domingo I remember my Lola as soft spoken woman. Always slow and soft in the things that she wishes to say. My grandfather's style is ultra different. He seems to be always having a bad day and possess a nasty habit of cursing in the vernacular :-) On my father's side of the clan, the men have MORE say in what goes on in the family. If my grandfather says something that goes without fail.. and growing up in that kind of family environment was kind of distressing sometimes because my father wanted to raise us similar to how he and his sibl

A re-share from a social networking place: I WISH YOU ENOUGH Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter's departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: "I love you and I wish you enough." The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom." They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?" "Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?" "I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral

Two days before the first day of December, my grand daughter comes for a visit . We wanted  her to experience putting up the decor for the Christmas tree.. too bad, our older apo could not make it.. he has school.. And yes, she was all so ecstatic when we were finished especially with the lights finally turned on! Bliss!

Looks like I found my long lost godchild PS through the social networking sites. YEY! His Mom is my Kumare CAgura. I wonder will I still be able to see himface to face?

With the massive proliferation of internet use, people are starting to think that the world is not the same without web access 24x7. It is the 'now' world with  all the encompassing  gadgetry in tow. And talk about gadgets, surely we all know that mobiles will be the standard access device to the web. It is not without good reason. Mobile devices are the ubiquitous or preferred mode of communication because it can be brought anywhere. It is small , possessing the power of a laptop, tablet or even perhaps, the desktop. My son labors and is passionate about  online gaming. He is into  developing and enhancing game sites including his own,  which essentially are patterned after the better known MMROPGs.  I could not count the times I hinted to him about developing a  mobile website   of his game, exactly for the reason  I said,  that mobiles will be the device of the future. My youngest has been here since Wednesday.. A very long call from my Mama :-)Bless her :-) My eldest son skipped work to be with us.. Then a call from my daughter made earlier than usual, layered and lathered with lots of updates and laughter; And a few minutes ago a call from another son.. Yes! Of course earlier, messages, messages and messages from friends and relatives on the social networks.. Seconds ago, a nice thought in a nicely created card from Belle.. The venue of the wedding was grand at the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church. One fabulous and awe inspiring altar that was. And the couple seemed to be totally at ease with each other. young but hopefully they both possess the maturity required to face the rigors and everyday challenges every married couple face as they embark on this lifetime journey. The groom is one of my youngest son's high school best friends. They've been through countless boy and adolescent moments. And now, here he is facing a new adult beginning. My gut feel about the bride is that she must be a wonderful person and can make her husband happy all the way!

Kindergarten was a blast for my grandson last year. He just breezed through it and with flying colors. But it is a totally different story this year. He is in first grade and looks like he needs a little support to get him through the smooth transition from Kinder to big school. I am now traveling down to memory lane and looking back I wish I had one for my math and statistics college courses. If only this kind of help were available then, I would have encouraged me venture into an Engineering or Business course. But, come to think of it, my math difficulties were addressed through the help of some senior students who were just too willing to offer their time and skills to get me through my college maths. For my nephew who is  currently New York based,  I think he might have to get nyc tutors based on what his Mom intimated to me. Happiness is a grand daughter. It's her impishness, the funny and endearing baby ways that really bring joy to me and my family. Wasn't that yesterday when she was just a baby? Now she's walking, talking, continuing to regale us endless..

When ever it comes, all the very wonderful memories my children spent with me from the time they were born till the time they've come of age will fondly get me through I know through that journey from this world to the next.. .. and let me not leave out the joys of grand parenting..
